Guiding and Rapport

  • humanizing your course, establishing rapport and guidance so your students are comfortable and supported from the start
  • developing communication strategies so they know how they are to be communicating with you and their classmates
The online learning environment creates new and varied opportunities for you to connect with your students.
Especially during these times of transition, due to the COVID-19 circumstances, it is even more vital that we as educators assure our students that we are here for them and relay to them how they can be successful in their academic pursuit.
This module provides you with a checklist of online design basics you can do to connect, communicate, and assure your students they can be successful in your course.

Be yourself and communicate, communicate, communicate!

"When it comes to online learning, teach through the screen not to the screen."
Sean Michael Morris,  University of Colorado
